What to do in an accident

1. Anyone hurt or in danger? Call 911 immediately.

   Safety always comes first.

2. Stay calm and get to safety.

   Turn on your hazard lights and, if possible, move the car out of traffic.

3. Call the police.

   An official police report speeds up the claim a lot.

4. Take photos of everything.

   The vehicles, the damage and the scene. Even the smallest detail helps you get paid faster.

5. Exchange information — and do NOT admit fault.

   The other driver's name, phone, plate and insurance company. Let the authorities and insurers do the investigating.

6. Report the accident to your carrier.

   Call your company's claims number (below) — most answer 24 hours. They process the claim right away.
